Man, what a night in Abu Dhabi. I’ve got to give credit where it’s due—Eli Tomac absolutely crushed it. I’ve been watching Eli for years, and every time he steps onto the track, he’s a force to be reckoned with, but this race was something else. On the track, he’s a beast. He makes it look so easy, and sometimes I wonder how he does it. The guy has a way of making every race feel like it’s just another day at the office, even when it’s a full-on battle.
The way he was charging through that race, you could tell he was on another level. His bike control, the way he handles the pressure—it’s next level stuff. He doesn’t make mistakes, and that’s what sets him apart. Even when things get tight, he’s still pushing and never backing down. It’s that kind of riding that makes him one of the all-time greats, no doubt about it.
It’s also crazy to think about the consistency Eli brings. Some guys can be fast for a few laps or in a few races, but Eli’s been doing it for years. He’s been at the top of the sport, in both Supercross and Motocross, for as long as I can remember. And even though he’s been around for a while, he’s still hungry. You can see it in the way he rides—he doesn’t settle for anything less than the win. It’s that mentality that I think a lot of us younger riders look up to.
There’s just something about his style, too. It’s almost like everything he does on the bike is smooth and calculated, but with this raw power behind it. It’s a pretty cool thing to watch, especially when you’re out there racing against him. He’s the kind of rider that pushes you to step up your game. You can’t just ride at your normal pace when Eli’s in the race—you have to go harder, be smarter, and find a way to keep up.
I’ve learned a lot just by watching him, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. He’s been through some tough seasons and setbacks, but it never seems to slow him down. That’s why when Eli lines up at a race like the Abu Dhabi showdown, you know it’s going to be something special. He knows how to handle the big moments, and he thrives under pressure.
So yeah, massive respect to Eli for what he did out there. That race was a perfect reminder of why he’s one of the best in the business. Watching him race is always a lesson in what it takes to be a champion, and I’m stoked to see what he’s got coming up next.
