Netflix has finally confirmed what fans have long speculated — a multi-episode documentary series titled The King’s Last Breath: Untold Truths of Elvis’s Death is set to premiere in Summer 2026. This 10-episode deep dive will unravel the complex and often controversial circumstances surrounding the sudden death of Elvis Presley, the undisputed King of Rock and Roll.
Elvis’s passing in 1977 shook the world — and decades later, it still raises questions. Was it merely heart failure? Or was there more lurking beneath the surface? Netflix promises to explore every angle, from the medical reports and personal diaries to conspiracy theories and overlooked testimonies.
Directed by acclaimed documentarian Asif Kapadia (Amy, Senna), the series blends rare interviews, never-before-seen home footage, and insider revelations. It will also feature commentary from family members, Graceland insiders, medical experts, and music historians.
Each episode will tackle a different layer — from his rise to fame and health struggles to his reclusive final days at Graceland. Episode titles include “The Final Hours,” “Dr. Nick’s Files,” and “The Silence at Graceland.” The final episode is set to piece together every clue, allowing viewers to draw their own conclusions.
Netflix calls it “a definitive investigation into the final chapter of one of music’s greatest lives.”
The series premieres August 16, 2026 — marking 49 years since Elvis’s death.
The legend never left the building — but now, the truth might.
