Blues-rock fans, brace yourselves — Larkin Poe just electrified the music world with a surprise announcement: a brand-new studio album titled “Southern Thunder”, and an accompanying 2026 world tour. Known for their gritty slide guitar, haunting harmonies, and unapologetic southern edge, sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell are back and louder than ever.
“Southern Thunder”, dropping March 2026, is described as the duo’s boldest and most personal project yet — a fusion of delta blues, rock swagger, and lyrical storytelling rooted in southern gothic imagery. The Lovell sisters say the album is “a love letter to the ghosts, grit, and glory of the South,” featuring 12 new tracks and guest appearances from Marcus King and Gary Clark Jr.
In classic Larkin Poe fashion, the album was recorded analog-style in Nashville, capturing the raw, live-wire energy that defines their sound. Lead single “Preacher’s Daughter” — a dark, foot-stomping anthem — drops next week, with an accompanying video filmed in rural Georgia.
Alongside the album, the “Southern Thunder Tour” will kick off in May 2026, with over 30 dates across North America, Europe, and Australia. The tour promises stripped-down blues, explosive guitar solos, and fan-favorite classics, all in intimate venues and historic theaters.
Tickets go on sale February 2, 2026, with early access for newsletter subscribers.
Larkin Poe’s fans — affectionately known as the “Poe Folk” — are already buzzing online, calling this the band’s most exciting era yet.
